So, I came down with this nasty fever late Saturday night and it didn't break until this afternoon. This means that, for the past three days I've felt and acted like the living dead on some really great psychotropic drugs. In between crazy fever dreams, trying to do homework, attempting to keep the apartment from spinning off the building like a top, etc., I have also been painting in Painter.
I did not realize this at all.
I came to discover my actions today as I pulled up a recent document and found this piece in my Recent Documents folder, the file name simply reading "head." Curious, I opened it and found myself relieved it wasn't weird porn; instead I found a piece of art that, according to the document properties, was last updated yesterday evening, an hour or so after I thought I had put myself to bed. Apparently when I get a bad fever [which, thankfully, is rare,] I not only hallucinate and talk to people claiming to be my muse/guardian angel type folks, but I also create odd art.
Go figure.
Since I don't remember my motivations for doing this piece in the first place, I'm at a loss for the story. Give me some time and another couple of days to fully recuperate, then we'll see if anything comes to me.
Who really knows? In all likelihood all I was thinking was "Hey, this looks pretty neat-o" or something lame like that. Maybe the guy in the black t-shirt who hung out on top of my TV most of the time made me do it. [I seriously need to avoid fevers in the future; that's the third time I hallucinated that guy while ill. >_<]
another amazing work...i have often found that times of extreme tribulation or trance or excess of one type or another sometimes leads to my best offerings...i am sorry you werent feeling well, though..fevers do bite at life a bit....

I should try to draw him; I think he's a muse, but I'm not really sure. His intentions could be shady, for all I know, since he shows up in normal dreams as well.
I still haven't the slightest clue what brought on the illness. I was probably stressed and over-worked, since that's what brought on such a bad fever the last time it happened a few years back [at least, that's what I assume.] I usually just get tension headaches, but every once in a while my body says "Hold up Kate, you need some Me-Time, whether you're lucid enough to enjoy it or not." ^_^
I just hate having to suss out what's real and what's not afterwards. I know the face-to-face conversations were fake but I'm concerned about some of the phone calls...
I shouldn't have been too surprised about making art in the middle of a fever dream [or whatever the hell it was;] I had to stack cans in front of my door to alert myself whenever I attempted to leave at inopportune times and woke up once with a half-finished game of Spades laid out on the floor. I tried to make out the names of the other three players on the score sheet but couldn't, since I have a hard enough time reading my handwriting when I'm lucid. XD

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
